Acronyms

Acronyms is a fast-moving, whole-room game that gets students thinking, guessing, and physically committing to an answer every round. Students are shown a familiar acronym they’ve definitely seen before, but when two possible meanings pop up on the screen, things get tricky fast. With only a left or right choice to make, every round turns into a moment of hesitation, confidence, and instant reactions as the room splits and students hope they picked correctly. It’s simple, loud, and creates instant energy as the crowd thins out round by round.

Show an acronym on the screen along with two possible meanings, one on the left and one on the right. Students move to the side of the room that matches the option they think is correct. Once everyone has chosen, reveal the correct answer. Anyone on the correct side stays in the game, and anyone who chose wrong is out and returns to their seat. Continue playing until only one student remains or stop at any point and reward everyone still standing.
