The Diver

Handcrafted and hand-painted in Romania by Ana Gurduza, The Diver is a ceramic relief depicting a figure in water. In water, the body grows light and silence begins to speak. The fish is not a stranger, but a partner in dance. Together they draw circles, moving through the composition.

There is no above or below, only a space between human and water. A reminder that the sea is a sky turned upside down, and that to descend can, in truth, mean to return to oneself.

The work draws on a recurring idea in Ana’s practice, a space between water and sky, unseen yet deeply felt. Between sea and sky there is no edge, only a breath, where the human figure learns how to be.

Part of a series of ceramic Wall Objects, The Diver centres on movement, balance and a sense of being suspended between two states.

As this is a handcrafted item, variations in form and finish will occur.

Dimensions:

H 26 × W 18 × D 3.5 cm. The relief features a built-in hanging slot on the back for wall mounting.

Care & Maintenance:

Wipe with a dry or damp cloth to remove dust or dirt. The glazed surface is resistant to both frost and everyday smudges – no additional treatment needed.
