Reversible Sterling Silver and Enamel Cat/Dog Necklaces

Playful but still clean and contemporary, reversible and cat/dog s shows the illustrated side of Mark Poulin’s jewelry. A longtime Artisans & agency artist, Mark has been making jewelry in Northern California since the 1990s, after the Loma Prieta earthquake destroyed his Oakland ceramics studio and pushed his work in a new direction.

For his enamel work, Mark carves the original setting in wax, casts it in sterling silver, and builds color with vitreous enamel fired at 1400°F in four separate firings. An illustration from his sketchbook is then screen-printed in enamel and fired onto the surface for a durable, vivid finish.
